Peter Peck and Julia Stanton first visited the Valley and Kountry Corral in 1989. They fell in love with the area and the community, eventually purchasing the park and renaming it Val’s Kountry Corral. Peter and Julia got married at Val’s and made it their home until Peter's passing. Miss Julia still owns the park alongside her grandson, Christopher. She currently resides at Val’s Kountry Corral and is often seen out and about with her furry companion, Ginger.

“I’ve been spending the winter in South Texas since 2022. In 2024, I discovered Val’s Kountry Corral RV Park and fell in love with it so much, that I bought a small house there. It’s always a real pleasure to come back. The atmosphere is warm, the staff is welcoming, the facilities are impeccable, and the activities keep me busy. It feels like home, surrounded by friendly neighbors and a peaceful setting. With the pool and hot tub, it’s the perfect place to enjoy winter.
I also love that our neighbors are goats. The Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park, where I walk the trails several times a week is a paradise for birds and other wildlife and less than 2 miles from Val’s.”
